Can dance floors be used outdoors?

Dance Floor Usage Guidelines

Our dance floors are designed for indoor or protected outdoor use only.  They should never be used outdoors unless placed under a tent and shielded from direct sunlight.  If you are renting a tent from a tent company or other third-party vendor, please ensure they provide you with a solid subfloor on which our dance floor can be properly assembled.

Prohibited Installation Surfaces

To maintain safety and protect the integrity of our flooring, dance floors cannot be installed on the following surfaces:

  • Astroturf
  • Cardboard
  • Carpet more than ¼" thick
  • Cobblestone
  • Driveways
  • Existing Dance Floor (installed over an existing dance floor)
  • Foam Rubber Floors
  • Glass Racks
  • Grass
  • Gravel
  • Mud
  • Mulch
  • Pallets
  • Plastic Surfaces
  • Portable event plastic floors
  • Sand
  • Tables
  • Temporary Plywood Sections
  • Tile Floors
  • Uneven Surfaces

Important Surface Protection Notice

Each dance floor section includes metal support struts underneath.  When placed directly on sensitive surfaces such as hardwood or marble, these struts may cause scratching.  A protective liner must be used to prevent surface damage.
